I'm Dari. 21. Musician. Artist. Florist's Assistant. And I'm reaffirming my love affair with health and wellness.
This is not a personal weight loss blog. I've reached a weight very close to my original ultimate goal weight (within ten pounds), so I'll be focusing on general fitness and whole eating now, and my body will find its natural weight. I'm also a flexitarian, which means I eat meat, but not a lot, and hypoglycemic, which means my body cannot handle sugar in excess, and needs a diet higher in protein.
Don't expect me to post pictures of skinny girls with thigh gaps. I am hardcore anti-thinspo. Fitspo is another story. I am here to motivate myself, and hopefully to inspire others to find their healthiest selves!

I am so glad that I’m not in “weight loss” mode anymore. That shit was Hard. Work. For those of you still on that journey, keep fighting. You’ve got it in you, and it’s so worth it.
Just wanted to say how fucking rad I think you all are.
Okay guys, I did it!
This workout is intense, but far from impossible. I finished it, and I’m definitely worn out, but it was really fun. I definitely needed a challenge. There were a few moments when I needed to take a break for just a few seconds, but the important part was that I plowed through to the end.
I did take an accidental break in the middle of circuit 4, however, but only because the blood was pumping so hard that my lip ring LITERALLY FLEW OUT OF MY FACE and I spent a good amount of time looking for it. Never found it. Boohooo that was one of the good ones, too. Goodbye, 35 dollars :[
Anyway, it was only day one, but I really enjoyed it! I’ll definitely be going to day 2! I’ll post the workout tomorrow.
Here’s my food for today:
Breakfast
-1 cup Raisin Bran
-1/2 cup milk
Snack
-Banana
Lunch
-Ham and Provolone Cheese Sandwich
-Apple
-Hot Dog from the cart down the street (I got huuungry okay!?)
Snack
-8 oz Starbucks Soy Latte
-Lowfat Yogurt
Dinner
-A little bit of chicken
-Steamed Vegetables
-Sauteed Mushroom sandwich with provolone
I feel like I ate a LOT today but I tracked it, and it only appears to be 1650 calories. Cool!
The most important thing to do when you’re trying to change your habits: just keep going. You’re going to mess up. A lot. You might mess up a little bit every day. Recognize it and move on. Just keep going.
Ah holy crap I needed to see this today <3

I really do have mixed feelings about Jillian Michaels. A friend of mine and I were talking today, and she pointed out that Jillian has her name on some ~fat-burning crazy results diet pill!~. Combine that with the way that the people are really treated onThe Biggest Loser, and she sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But at the same time, I do own the 30 Day Shred video, and that shit WORKS. I’ve also seen videos of her just giving lectures and not trying to sell anything, and the fact is, the woman really does know her stuff.
For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Making the Cut is a book that Jillian Michaels wrote for people in my position, who are in good physical shape and eat fairly well, but still have an extra 10-ish pounds they want to get rid of. Now, I’m not saying I NEED to, or even that I have much of a strong desire to get rid of those extra ten pounds. I really love my body the way it is, and an extra ten pounds is actually sort of healthy, as long as you’re eating right and exercising regularly, but I kind of want to do it as a challenge, more than anything else.
The meal plan seems pretty terrible - she has pre-set meals that frankly I don’t think I’m going to follow, simply because a lot of it consists of foods that I don’t really like, but I’d probably follow the dietary guidelines (for me, a 5’0” 140lb female with a fairly muscular build, it’d be 1500-1700 calories per day, 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% protein).
The workout is INCREDIBLY intense circuit training, with five circuits per day of various (incredibly difficult) strength moves, plus 15 minutes of cardio at the end, five days a week. I could definitely see myself getting results from this, and I’m sure I could probably do it if I really set my mind to it and made time for it. That’s 5-8 hours a week though, and even though that doesn’t sound like much, it’s a slightly bigger commitment than my current 3-4 hours per week.
Anyway, I’m not sure whether or not I’m going to go for it, but I figured I’d throw this out into the Tumblr Fitness Universe and see what you guys thought. Anyone ever read this book or use this program? Any advice/reviews/begging me not to do it?
The weeks when I don’t do anything are the weeks when I feel my worst, both physically and mentally. Fitness keeps me sane.
